Braam Jordaan's "The Rubbish Monster" featured in Filmmakers Guide to South Africa: 10th anniversary edition of the award-winning annual to celebrate the last ten years of the South African film industry. It truly is an honor to have "The Rubbish Monster" featured in the Review of the Decade.

When The Filmmakers Guide to South Africa started 10 years ago, the local film industry was a very different place. The Department of Trade and Industry (dti) has been proud to play a role in a decade of expansion and diversification.

The South African government, through the dti, has actively invested in this sector to create the necessary conducive environment for growth. As such, we have developed a film production incentive which is rated among the most efficient in the world. The dti regularly reviews this incentive with industry. This led to the introduction of milestone payments in 2009 and the doubling of the cap in 2010, making South Africa a more attractive production partner than ever before.
