Braam Jordaan was commissioned by Deaf Federation of South Africa (DeafSA) to create two vibrant animations for the massive opening and closing ceremonies of the XVI World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) to be held in Durban, South Africa from 18 to 24 July 2011.

It will be specifically African style of animation that is a true reflection of African diversity, culture and the South African Rainbow nation. The animated lion Sipho, the official mascot for the XVI World Congress of the WFD, helped DeafSA to win the bid to host the congress in Durban in Madrid (2007) will return for a big surprise.
